Cascade Counseling and Consulting is a behavioral health clinic made up of dedicated and skilled mental health and substance use treatment experts ready to serve you. We hope our brief introductions will help you connect and find a clinician to best meet your needs.
Emmanuel is our horse trainer and equine expert. He may be an active part of our session, supporting us with the horses or around the barn while we're working together. Emmanuel is part of our team and is bound by the same confidentiality and privacy laws that our therapists work under.
Betty White (can you think of a better name sake!) is a Mustang who came to us in June 2022 from the Warm Springs Reservation in Oregon. Betty has done great work over the last year in training, getting gentled and starting her work with clients. She's naturally kind, loves getting attention and wants to connect.
Penny Benjamin (its a subtle Top Gun reference!) is a Mustang who came to us in June 2022 from the Warm Springs Reservation in Oregon. Like people, Penny has her own personality and has needed a little more time in training to help her come out of her shell. She's the kind of gal that knows what she likes, what she doesn't like, and is happy to set boundaries when she needs to.
Phoenix is the newest member of our herd! He's a sweet, curious, young guy who we rescued from a feedlot in June 2023. He's currently in quarantine ... but we're excited to have him join us and start the training process.
Just like with people, our horses are continuing to learn and develop their skills in helping support the clients we work with. We've carefully chosen the horses that we partner with, as well as the trainer and therapeutic approach in an effort to give you the best experience in your equine-facilitated wellness journey. Clients can meet Penny and Betty through our equine therapy program, where they are valuable partners in the therapy process, helping clients build connections and relationships while also exploring emotional regulation. Equine-facilitated wellness services can be helpful for folks who have experienced trauma or when "in the office" therapy just isn't the right fit. Sometimes getting outside and being with the horses is the small change that makes the biggest difference. We are offering limited equine-facilitated services at this time to current Cascade Counseling and Consulting clients only.
