Pronouns: she/her
Paxton grew up in Southern California and attended Humboldt State University in Northern California where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology. She lived in Western Montana for a couple years and worked with children and adults who benefited from therapeutic horse riding, before making the move to the Portland area to finish her master’s degree in clinical counseling with an emphasis in childhood and adolescent trauma. Paxton has experience working with children in multiple settings including school and one-on-one mentoring. She is very passionate about mental health and wellness, self-love, suicide prevention, equestrian therapy, and diversity and inclusion. Paxton works to provide a safe space for clients to be vulnerable and share their thoughts, while promoting growth, resilience, self-confidence, and positive change. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy and strengths-based theory to promote client growth, emotional guidance, and goal-reaching. When she’s not at work, Paxton is likely outdoors enjoying the beautiful PNW by hiking, snowboarding, or paddle boarding with her boyfriend and their dog. Paxton is currently a student intern, providing counseling under supervision and is working toward completing her clinical hours for graduation in 2024. Paxton is currently working with clients age 5+ and their families.
