CLINICAL SOCIAL WORK ASSOCIATE
MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST
pronouns: she/her
Genét grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, but has lived in the Portland area for more than 20 years and definitely considers the PNW to be home. After graduating with a Masters in Social Work from Brigham Young University, she took a break to raise her children. She later returned to the mental health field to work as a certified coach, and is now coming back to the clinical space. Genét utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches specifically tailored to the client’s individual needs, with a specific emphasis on mindful presence, acceptance, and commitment to values. She works collaboratively with clients to uncover a deeper, more meaningful relationship to self and others. She believes that we are each experts in our own journey. The role of a therapist is to create a safe container where one can explore the wisdom of the body and mind with openness and curiosity, and to provide new tools that will allow us to more deeply access that inner knowing. Genét has a personal passion for helping parents navigate the journey of raising LGBTQIA+ kids, as well as supporting those moving through a faith deconstruction/expansion within high demand religion. Outside of her practice, she enjoys playing board games with her family, spending as much time in the forest as possible, and eating delicious food. Genét is currently a CSWA and working towards independent licensure while under supervision. Genét is currently working with clients age 18+.
Genét provides telehealth and in-person services at our office in West Linn.
