Alexa was born and raised in South Louisiana. She earned her Bachelor’s in English from Mississippi College before moving to Portland in 2018 to pursue and complete her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western Seminary. During her graduate program, Alexa worked with adults and children impacted by homelessness and addiction, as well as serving individuals of all ages in a community mental health setting. Prior to joining the team at Cascade, Alexa served youth and families experiencing acute mental health needs as part of a community-based crisis service. In her work with clients, Alexa integrates attachment theory and cognitive methods with a focus on client values. Her aim is to walk alongside people in their journeys of self-discovery and collaborate with them as they work towards their goals. As a former English major, Alexa enjoys incorporating her knowledge of narrative with her counseling training to hold space for clients as they discover, process, and sometimes rewrite the story of their lives. When she’s not at work, you will likely find Alexa working on her to-be-read pile of library books, cooking new recipes with her husband, or spending time with friends over coffee. Alexa is a Professional Counselor Associate and is working towards independent licensure while under supervision. Alexa works with clients age 5+.
Alexa provides telehealth and in-person services, both in our office and eco-therapy services at our farm.
