After working in residential and outpatient substance use treatment for more than 10 years, Shalman went on to earn his Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Portland State University in 2017. Shalman encourages active and honest communication with clients and values feedback about your therapeutic experience. Whether you want to address mental health symptoms that are impacting your daily life or struggle with substance abuse, Shalman has a very supportive, goal-directed and non-judgmental approach to help you identify and reach your goals. By identifying life problems, past roadblocks and core values, every person can learn to make choices that are more in line with their goals in ways that encourage contentment, stability and success. Shalman is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) II clinician in Oregon.
