Lupita was born in Mexico City and immigrated to a rural town in Oregon in 1991. As an immigrant and first generation college graduate, Lupita understands the importance and value of a person’s story. Lupita received a Bachelor’s of Sociology and Masters of Social Work from Portland State University. She has spent the majority of her career working with individuals and families in a healthcare setting, supporting women during their pregnancies in a outpatient clinic, in a hospital setting and supporting women after their birth. Most recently, Lupita has been supporting families connected to a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) requiring hospitalizations of their newborns. She has gained experience in building relationships and coordinating supportive services to clients while reducing systemic and individual barriers to healthcare and community services. Lupita provides compassionate, client-centered, trauma informed care and she believes that everyone can reach their potential when being approached with respect and unconditional positive regard. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), her therapeutic modalities are rooted in family systems, crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, solution focused and narrative therapy. She enjoys working with families, young adults and adolescents with a strong aim at culturally specific BIPOC populations, with an emphasizes towards first generation Latinx. 

In her free time, Lupita enjoys spending time with her family and their dog Max doing any outdoor activities (weather permitting!) that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. During basketball season, you can also find Lupita on the sidelines coaching her son’s youth basketball team. Lupita is currently working with clients 5+ and their families.
